Clarence retired as CEO of Darden Restaurants after serving for 10 years. He started in 1995 as treasurer. His first public company board came about when he was CEO at Darden and was by referral. He serves on the boards of Verizon Communications Inc, UFC corporation, and Travelers. Clarence also serves on the boards of private companies such as Healthy Dining and Union Square Hospitality Group. He started his career in corporate law with Donovan, Leisure, Newton & Irvine before moving to Kidder Peabody and First Boston.
